Anglesey is historically known as Mon Mam Cymru (The Bread Basket of Wales) due to its fertile land producing good crops in the middle ages. The island’s reputation for food and drink remains the same with an abundance of places to eat out, farmers markets and food festivals offering fantastic local produce.

Catch 22 Brasserie (Valley)

We are so lucky to have one of our favourite places to eat on our doorstep. Catch 22 offers a contemporary yet casual setting with a changing seasonal menu focusing on the finest local ingredients. They are open 7 days a week from 10:30am for coffee, brunch or a three-course meal.

The Harbourfront Bistro

Delicious food and fantastic surroundings. The Harbourfront Bistro is a restaurant and bar located next to The Holyhead Maritime Museum directly on Newry Beach in Holyhead Harbour. At high tide the sea reaches underneath our restaurant’s deck – you cannot dine any closer to the water in Anglesey!

The Marram Grass

The BBC’s Great British Menu, Ellis Barrie runs the celebrated Marram Grass on Anglesey with his brothers Liam and Conor. Unlike other restaurants, they offer three mystery dining experiences where you will be presented with surprise dishes depending on seasonal availability. You might struggle to book a table but it’s worth the wait.

Anglesey Farmers Markets & Festivals

Anglesey Farmers Market

The Anglesey Farmers’ Market is held every third Saturday of each month. You’ll be able to buy a wide selection of delicious local produce including Welsh Black beef and fresh crab caught along the Anglesey coastline, as well as a range of handmade cheeses and locally grown fruit and Vegetables.

Menai Food Festival

The Menai Food Festival is held on the recreation field and surrounding areas in Menai Bridge, Anglesey, North Wales. A weekend feast of food & drink producers, craft stalls, street food, live music and a mini funfair to keep little ones entertained!
